Description
- Allocate tasks within the team, supervise execution, check and monitor progress of tasks, guide and motivate staff, and assist where needed to ensure smooth workflow and achievement of targets.
- Communicate with airlines regarding required allocations and shipment changes. Plan Weekly forecasted volumes with the B&P Manager, OKAM coordinator to ensure optimal use of blocked airspace, in line with shipper and market requirements.
- Ensure Communication to any shipment changes to the airline and any flight changes to OKAM, Operations, and Airflo BV. Ensure all shipment details are promptly shared with all teams.
- Check flight statuses regularly and ensure all changes or deviations are communicated in a timely manner to OKAM, Operations, Airflo BV, and other clearing agents.
- Lead, motivate, and coach team members to achieve high performance. Review individual and team performance, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative and accountable team culture. Identify training and development needs and facilitate relevant learning opportunities.
- Set clear goals and objectives for the team aligned with company requirements. Establish an outlook for future freight requirements and expected volumes. Develop and implement mid- and long-term plans based on freight and customer requirements.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Ensure adherence to all company health and safety SOPs and take proactive steps to ensure clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned by management.
- Ensure stats on Dead freight, Mixed pallets, unused S-number, and claims are done, gaps addressed, and action recorded.
Requirements
- Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in airfreight operations, logistics, or a related field.
- Experience in team leadership or supervisory roles.
- Proficiency in relevant computer systems and software (e.g., shipment management systems, MS Office Suite).
- Knowledge of airfreight documentation, booking processes, and airline coordination is an advantage.
- Strong command of English; additional languages are an asset.
