Human Resource Manager
Our client a leading manufacturer in the wood and wood products industry is looking for a strategic and collaborative Human Resource leader, not just an employee, but a long-term partner to grow with the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and driving our People and Culture Strategy, with a strong focus on culture transformation, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. The HRM will help shape systems, structures, and behaviors that promote high performance, continuous learning, inclusivity, and industrial harmony within a unionized manufacturing environment.Â
Job Responsibilities
- Design, lead, and implement the People and Culture Strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and value.
-  Champion and drive organizational culture change initiatives to support growth, innovation, and high performance.
-  Keep abreast of emerging HR trends and best practices, and lead the review and implementation of relevant HR policies and systems.
-  Lead talent acquisition and workforce planning, ensuring a pipeline of skilled, diverse, and values-aligned individuals.
-  Promote gender equality, diversity, and inclusivity across all HR processes and programs.
-  Manage the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, induction, performance management, succession planning, exit processes, and employee engagement.
-  Oversee the design and execution of a learning and development framework to support capacity building and knowledge sharing.
- Spearhead employee relations, including handling grievances, disciplinary procedures, and ensuring a fair, transparent, and consistent approach.
-  Lead Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations, and manage relationships with unionized staff, ensuring compliance with labor laws and fostering positive industrial relations.
-  Develop and implement programs to enhance employee welfare, engagement, and retention.
- Â Provide strategic support and coaching to senior leadership on all matters related to people,Â
culture, and change management.
Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.Â
- Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM, CIPD) is required.
-  At least 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing or unionized environment.
-  Proven experience in CBA negotiations, industrial relations, and employee welfare management.
-  Strong understanding of labour laws, employee relations practices, and HR compliance.
-  Demonstrated success in leading culture change and organizational transformation.
- Â Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
-  A team player and strategic advisor with the ability to lead, influence, and inspire.
