Key Responsibilities
- Uphold the company code of conduct, policies and procedures, ensuring integrity and accountability in every aspect of your work.
- All employees have a responsibility to adhere to safety, health, and wellbeing policies, guidelines and procedures in all actions and decisions.
- Responsible for ideation, development and execution of strategies align business communications with the immerging trends and shifts to digital and new media.
- Responsible for ensuring the development and implementation of effective communication strategies for several divisions and departments including but not limited to; Consumer Business Unit, Channels, Assets & Sponsorships, and the M-Pesa and Safaricom Foundations.
- Provide expert internal and external communications counsel to the team’s leaders.
- Generate positive press coverage around news, events, activities, issues, developments & personalities.
- Contribute to ensuring that Safaricom is perceived positively across all major stakeholders & constituencies.
- Leading press engagement strategy for the company and develop & maintain personal relationships with key media influencers.
- Manage relationship with and output of PR agencies.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any field with a demonstrable interest in communications and public relations
- 5-8 years’ experience in communication or public relations
- Proven track record designing and executing successful campaigns
- Exceptional writing, verbal and editing skills
- Solid experience in new media such us Tiktok, Facebook, X, blogs, etc.
- Firm grasp of grammar and ability to develop compelling story angles
- Professional, upbeat, organized, energetic and an astute problem-solver.
- Comfortable working with a corporate CEO as they are with members of the public
- High level of integrity/Trustworthy character
- Flexibility and the ability to multi-task
