Junior Communications and Events Coordinator
We are seeking a proactive and creative Junior Communications and Events Coordinator to support two key areas within our organization: managing our social media presence and coordinating the planning and execution of our upcoming 10-year anniversary celebrations. Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Coordination (50%)
- Assist in developing and implementing a social media calendar across platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, X/Twitter).
- Draft, edit, and schedule posts to promote the organization’s work, values, and milestones.
- Coordinate content development, including liaising with internal teams and external creatives (e.g., photographers, designers).
- Monitor engagement and analytics to inform improvements in content and strategy.
- Ensure consistency in brand messaging and visual identity across platforms.
- Organize and maintain a shared database of branded content, photos, testimonials and videos for easy reuse.
Program Management & Coordination – 10-Year Anniversary (50%)
- Support planning and execution of the company’s 10-year anniversary celebration (and other events e.g. Nurses Week) including activities, communications, etc
- Serve as the central point of coordination across internal teams and external vendors (event planners, venues, creatives, etc.).
- Track progress against timelines and deliverables; maintain planning documents and schedules.
- Assist in developing and distributing communications related to the anniversary (e.g., invitations, internal updates, press materials).
- Support logistical planning, including event registration, vendor management, and materials preparation.
- Help source branded materials (e.g., company merchandize) and liaise with vendors on production and distribution timelines.
Desired Competencies:
- A diploma or degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in social media coordination, event planning, and or project management (internships and volunteer experience count).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and basic analytics tools.
- A team player with a proactive attitude and keen attention to detail.
