Human Resource Manager
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Human Resource Manager to oversee and drive all HR operations within our organization. This role demands someone who can balance people- focused initiatives with operational effectiveness, while ensuring full legal compliance and a productive workplace culture. You will lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compliance, and policy development. The ideal candidate will bring innovation, empathy, and leadership to strengthen our HR function and support organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
- Draft clear, lawful, and effective internal policies that govern all employee-related matters.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment and selection process
- Oversee hiring from advertising to onboarding to ensure top talent acquisition.
- Maintain up-to-date employee records and HR documentation
- Ensure safe, accessible storage and compliance of employee files and contracts.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs for new employees Introduce new hires effectively through structured induction and training sessions.
- Handle employee relations and provide support in conflict resolution
- Address workplace grievances, mediate conflicts, and foster healthy work relationships.
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws and employment regulations
- Keep HR practices aligned with national laws, NHIF, NSSF, leave entitlements, and tax regulations.
- Monitor employee performance and coordinate appraisal processes Manage periodic reviews that evaluate staff progress and support promotions or improvements.
- Facilitate staff training and capacity-building initiatives
- Promote continuous learning through development programs and training sessions.
- Maintain HR databases, systems, and records securely
- Utilize software tools to manage personnel data while protecting confidentiality.
- Support payroll administration by ensuring timely submission of HR data Collaborate with Finance to process payroll inputs such as attendance and deductions.
- Oversee disciplinary procedures in accordance with company policies Ensure that misconduct is handled fairly, lawfully, and consistently.
- Coordinate employee welfare and wellness initiatives
- Introduce employee engagement activities, health campaigns, and support services
- Advise management on HR trends, risks, and best practices
- Offer strategic input to leadership on workforce issues and emerging labor market trends.
- Ensure timely renewal of contracts and employment documentation Track and process contract extensions and terminations appropriately.
- Develop and implement succession planning strategies
- Help prepare internal candidates to take on leadership roles through structured career paths.
- Support organizational change management processes
- Guide staff through change initiatives with communication and adaptation strategies.
- Monitor staff leave, attendance, and absenteeism
- Oversee leave planning and ensure smooth operations during absences.
- Participate in HR audits and internal reviews
- Prepare documentation and data to ensure HR compliance and audit readiness.
- Manage staff exit processes and conduct exit interviews
- Facilitate professional offboarding and gather feedback for HR improvement.
- Prepare periodic HR reports for management review
- Provide analytical reports on recruitment, retention, training, and HR efficiency.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a human resource management role.
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory HR role is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be a registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management(IHRM).
