Lead Project Manager- Nairobi
The role requires strong leadership, advanced project management expertise, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project outcomes. The ideal candidate will excel in managing complex technical projects, driving execution, and maintaining alignment with both technical and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities.
- Lead end-to-end project management for a mission-critical software development project
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation frameworks
- Coordinate effectively with developers, QA teams, executives, and external vendors
- Manage and motivate project teams to achieve milestones and maintain high performance
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure proactive issue resolution
- Maintain strict control over project scope, budget, timelines, and deliverables
- Oversee software testing, validation, and quality assurance to meet performance and security standards
- Implement Agile/Scrum methodologies to support iterative development and continuous improvement
- Develop and execute project rollout plans with internal and external stakeholders
- Serve as the primary liaison for project communications, providing regular progress updates to all stakeholders
Key Qualifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 6+ years of project management experience, including at least 3 years managing software development projects
- Proven track record of delivering enterprise-level software solutions successfully
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing third-party vendors
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and modern software development practices
- Familiarity with contemporary software architecture and integration approaches
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Trello, MS Project, or similar
- Strong technical understanding of SDLC, APIs, integration processes, and software delivery workflows
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile Certified Practitioner are preferred
