Mechanic
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect, diagnose, and perform preventative maintenance on a wide range of heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, motor graders, trucks, and loaders.
- Conduct repairs, replacements, and adjustments to mechanical systems for optimal equipment efficiency.
- Perform routine service tasks like oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to prevent breakdowns.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment manuals.
- Analyze complex problems, develop solutions, and execute repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Keep track of spare parts and material inventory.
- Assist in ordering required parts and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Provide detailed reports on equipment conditions and repair status Advise management on spare parts procurement and fleet maintenance schedules.
- Observe safety protocols.
- Coordinate with external service providers or workshops when specialized repairs are needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Carry out any other duty that may be given.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma/Certificate in Automotive Engineering, Marketing.
- Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in vehicle and heavy machinery maintenance, preferably in the Construction Industry.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, petrol, and diesel engines.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team under minimum supervision.
