Mechanic

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect, diagnose, and perform preventative maintenance on a wide range of heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, motor graders, trucks, and loaders.
  • Conduct repairs, replacements, and adjustments to mechanical systems for optimal equipment efficiency.
  • Perform routine service tasks like oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to prevent breakdowns.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment manuals.
  • Analyze complex problems, develop solutions, and execute repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Keep track of spare parts and material inventory.
  • Assist in ordering required parts and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Provide detailed reports on equipment conditions and repair status Advise management on spare parts procurement and fleet maintenance schedules.
  • Observe safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with external service providers or workshops when specialized repairs are needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Carry out any other duty that may be given.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma/Certificate in Automotive Engineering, Marketing.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in vehicle and heavy machinery maintenance, preferably in the Construction Industry.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, petrol, and diesel engines.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team under minimum supervision.
