Job Description

  • The Housekeeper II, KEWI 9 reports to the Housekeeper I KEWI 8.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –

  • Taking part in setting up conferencing facilities;
  • Carrying out general cleaning;
  • Spreading beds;
  • Operating laundry equipment;
  • Washing cleaning materials and equipment;
  • Maintaining cleaning equipment; and
  • Dusting and cleaning rooms, windows and corridors.

Person Specifications

  • For appointment to this grade an officer must have: –
  • At least three (3) years relevant work experience, in the grade of Housekeeper III or in a comparable position;
  • Certificate in any of the following courses: – Housekeeping and Front Office Management, Housekeeping and Laundry or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

In addition to the above indicated requirements, applicants will be required to meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.

The following clearances will be required from successful candidates upon offer of job and not at the application stage.

  • Certificate of Good Conduct;
  • Clearance from the Ethics and Anti – Corruption Commission;
  • Certificate of Compliance from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
  • Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance Clearance; and
  • Certificate of Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
