Regional Clinical Lead
Job Summary
CHAK is seeking to hire an experienced clinician to support the CDC-funded CHAP Stawisha project as the Regional Clinical Lead. The project supports HIV/TB/OVC services in faith-based and county health facilities across 15 counties in the country, with offices in Embu, Kitui, and Nairobi.
The clinician will provide technical oversight for HIV/TB prevention, care, and treatment interventions for supported faith-based facilities under the CHAP Stawisha Program.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Oversight
- Provide oversight for CHAP Stawisha staff supporting the cluster, county engagement, mentorship, and capacity building of facility staff and the regional team.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the regional team and supported facilities.
- Perform joint supervision of HIV care, treatment, and TB/HIV services with County and Sub-County Health Management Teams (C/SHMTs).
- Act as the liaison between CHAP Stawisha and county health teams through participation in regional, county, and sub-county HIV and TB technical working groups.
New business development
- Plan and implement HIV prevention, care, treatment, and TB services at supported facilities.
- Support Site Improvement and Monitoring Systems (SIMS) at facility level through onsite mentorship.Plans and executes new It’s with technical insight and intellectual curiosity/Innovation lens.
- Provide onsite clinical systems mentorship to facility staff.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement (QA/QI) of TB and HIV services, including TB Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) interventions.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Prepare work plans, technical reports, and contribute to budget preparations.
- Review regional program performance data and support the development of quarterly review slides and presentations.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluation of HIV care-related activities, using data to inform quality of care and performance in supported facilities.
- Mentor facility staff on use of data for improving patient management.
Research and Innovation
- Actively participate in program operational research to strengthen evidence-based practice.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform any other lawful duties as assigned by the Senior Technical Advisor, consistent with the scope and nature of the position.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery, duly registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC); or Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Clinical Medicine, duly registered with the Clinical Officers Council.
- At least 3 years of progressive HIV-related clinical experience.
- At least 3 years’ experience working in a HIV donor-funded program.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with strong presentation skills.
- Self-driven, innovative, a team player, and possessing strong interpersonal skills.
