Quality Assurance Assistant Officer I, Medical Laboratory Technologist

PIJRPOSE STATEMENT;

  • To provide support in evaluation, inspection, and quality assurance of medical laboratory commodities and health technologies. Ensure compliance with technical specifications, SOPs, and performance standards for effective distribution. Provide technical advice, training, and guidance on diagnostic supplies to enhance efficiency and safety.

Duties and responsibilities will entail:

  • Participate in technical evaluations of diagnostic supplies, and health technologies to ensure they meet required specifications.
  • Conduct physical hspections of diagnostic supplies and health technologies before their receipt into stores.
  • Receive, investigate, and respond to customer complaints regarding poor quality and health technologies.
  • Perform regular random sampling and quality checks on all diagnostic commodities supplied and distributed by KEMSA, analyzing results and identifying ways to maintain high quality.
  • Coordinate with medical laboratory, nutrition, and other programs on technical specfications, requirements, and distribution of various commodities.
  • Manage and coordinate the distribution of diagnostic supplies in liaison with MOH ProSrams. (vii) Assist in developing and verifying technical specifications for health technologies ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Implement SOPs and documentation related to pr<rcurement, inventory control, storage, security, and evaluation of diagnostic supplies
  • Analyze and calibrate medical equipment performance to ensure proper functionhg, overseeing installation and technical operations.
  • Conduct continuous training for sales people, clients, and inventory team on handling diagnostic supplies and equipment, including demonstrations and usage education.
  • Prepare data-driven reports on equipment effectiveness, update management on biotechnology trends, and recommend safety procedures for diagnostic equipment

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  • Cumulative service period of six (6) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Quality Assurance Assistant Officer ll or in a comparable position;
  • Diploma in medical laboratory technology, a Higher National Diploma will be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
