About the Role

The Manager will focus on compliance needs for retirement plans covered by ERISA. These include 401(k), 403(b), and defined benefit plans. You will act as a subject expert who guides teams, reviews issues, and helps keep plans compliant. You will also help with audits, testing, updates, and detailed plan work. This role requires someone who can handle complex tasks while keeping processes clear and organized.

What You Will Do

• Support teams and clients with answers on ERISA and DOL rules.
• Review plan activity to confirm it meets ERISA, IRS, and DOL standards.
• Help prepare replies to audits and regulatory questions.
• Track rule changes and share how they may affect plans.
• Work with legal, operations, and client service teams on plan needs.
• Support the drafting and review of plan documents, amendments, and summaries.
• Help interpret plan rules and fix operational issues.
• Join training sessions and stay current on ERISA updates.
• Assist with policies, controls, and compliance procedures.
• Support onboarding of new plans and ensure clean setup.
• Keep client records and track compliance tasks.
• Assist with compliance testing such as ADP and ACP.
• Help with Form 5500 work, audit prep, and related documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related experience in plan compliance or administration.
• Strong knowledge of ERISA, DOL rules, and IRS standards.
• Experience with 401(k), 403(b), and defined benefit plans.
• Ability to lead audits and manage complex plan issues.
• Clear communication skills with comfort explaining rules to non-legal staff.
• Strong attention to detail, analysis, and organization.
• Experience with ERISA testing.
• Good judgment and problem-solving ability.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with recordkeepers, third-party administrators, and plan sponsors.
• Skill with Form 5500, prohibited transactions, testing, and other ERISA tasks.
• ASPPA designation is helpful.

Pay and Benefits

Pay ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 a year, with a possible bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, paid parental leave, and a 401(k) plan with match. Extra benefits may apply based on location. The role does not require travel.
